2. Orders & product specifications
Order Placement: Placing an order via our website constitutes an offer to purchase the selected items. An automated order acknowledgment confirms receipt of your order but does not constitute final legal acceptance. A binding agreement is formed once Schutte Prints accepts the order and confirms processing.
Product Descriptions & Visual Representation: We take great care to ensure descriptions, sizing, and digital previews are accurate. Electronic displays vary in calibration, brightness, color profiles, and display tech. Minor visual differences between a screen display and the physical print on fine art paper do not constitute a defect.
3. Pricing & payment
Currency: All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR).
VAT Exemption: As Schutte Prints is an exempt small enterprise not currently registered as a VAT vendor under the Value-Added Tax Act 89 of 1991, prices do not include VAT, and no VAT is charged.
Price Corrections: Total order amounts (including delivery fees) are presented before checkout. In the event of an obvious or genuine pricing error, Schutte Prints reserves the right to cancel the affected order and issue a full refund before dispatch.
Online payments: Checkout uses Bob Pay (bobpay.co.za). Supported methods include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, EFT, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Scan to Pay, and Nedbank. You complete payment on Bob Pay’s secure page; Schutte Prints does not store card or banking details.
4. Delivery & inspection
Shipping Address: Deliveries are made via courier to the physical address provided or drop box location selected at checkout. Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery address and contact details.
Delivery Transit: Estimated transit times are provided on the website. If delivery fails or is delayed due to incorrect address and or contact information or customer unavailability, additional redelivery arrangements or costs may apply.
Transit Damage & Prompt Notice: Please inspect packages upon delivery. If a print arrives damaged, please notify Schutte Prints as soon as possible—preferably within 48 hours of delivery—along with photographs of both the external packaging and damaged print. This administrative request helps us process claims with our couriers and does not restrict your statutory CPA rights.
5. Returns, cancellations & cooling-off
7-Day Cooling-Off Period (Standard Catalogue Goods): Under Section 44 of ECTA, customers purchasing standard catalogue items online are entitled to a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of delivery to cancel their order for any reason.
Simple Return Process: Changed your mind? We want you to love what is on your wall. Standard catalogue inventory prints can be returned within 7 days of delivery, provided they are in their original packaging and undamaged condition. Returns are simple and straightforward—we can assist in arranging a courier pickup, with the standard return courier fee (R99) deducted from your refund or arranged directly.
Bespoke & Custom Requests: Where a customer requests specialized, off-catalogue dimensions, bespoke framing, or unique commissioned alterations outside our standard website inventory product line, such items fall under Section 42(2)(f) of ECTA and cannot be canceled once production has commenced, unless defective.
Defective or Damaged Goods: Per Section 56 of the CPA, if a print is defective or damaged in transit, you are entitled to a replacement, repair, or full refund within 6 months of delivery at zero cost to you. Full details: see our Returns & Refunds Policy.
6. Copyright & intellectual property
Copyright Retention: Copyright in all photographs and artwork displayed on this website is exclusively owned by the author Jacques Schutte and/or Schutte Prints under the South African Copyright Act 98 of 1978.
Limited Ownership Rights: The purchase of a physical photo print transfers ownership of the physical medium only. It does not transfer copyright, reproduction rights, or commercial licensing rights.
Permitted & Prohibited Uses: Purchasers receive a limited, non-exclusive right to display the physical print for personal, non-commercial purposes. Purchasers may not scan, digitize, reproduce, reprint, publish, sell reproductions of, or incorporate the image into commercial goods, websites, or advertisements without explicit written permission from the author Jacques Schutte.
